Management Structure

ACEG's management structure consists of three organs: ACEG Members, ACEG Board of Directors, and ACEG Secretariat managed by an Executive Director.

Members form the supreme body of ACEG with powers to : provide general orientation for ACEG program activities; designate external auditors for the organization; approve annual ACEG accounts and the external auditors report; elect officers of the Board of Directors; and dissolve ACEG by at least a vote of two third of the members.

Board of Directors is made up of seven members appointed in their personal capacity to hold office for a renewable period of four years. One of the seven members is elected by the Board as Chairman. The Directors are jointly responsible for the long term strategic direction of the organization. To discharge their mandates effectively, they are provided with appropriate and timely information that enables them to maintain full and effective control over the financial, operational and compliance matters. The Board sets priorities for ACEG activities; approves ACEGs work plan and budget; appoints the Executive Director of ACEG; and presents annual books of account and balance sheet to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of ACEG members for discussion and approval.

The authority for the day to day management of ACEG is delegated to the Executive Director with powers to call Board meetings in consultation with the Board chairman; take and keep minutes of the Board; and represent ACEG in its relations with governments, regional and international organizations, donors and other institutions.
