Dr Masai obtained a BA (Econ) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Masters and Doctorate in Economics from the University of Grenoble in France. He is currently the Research Consultant of ACEG and an Associate Professor, Department of Economics at the University of Nairobi, with teaching and research interests in economic policy analysis, development planning techniques, industrial economics and project and operations analysis.
Dr Masai has served on national planning committee for: food and nutrition, industry, family planning and maternal child health, and currently, manpower development. Also currently serving as chairman of the Academic Board of the African Economic Research Consortium's Regional Collaborative Master's Programme in economics for Anglophone Africa (except Nigeria) involving some twenty Departments of Economics.
